Churches
in New Town part of Warsaw

Poland being a very religious country has erected lots of churches throughout its more than 1000 year history. Many of the churches left today date back to XIVth century or even earlier.

Most of the churches can be found around Dluga, Freta and Stara Street. One of the most famous churches is Casmir's church founded in 1688 by King Jan III Sobieski. The church was designed in late baroque style. It features the tombstone for princess Marie Caroline de Bouillon, the granddaughter of King Jan III Sobieski.

Other churches worth seeing Church of St Francis, Church of the Holy Spirit and St Jacek's Church.
